Caring For Your Handwoven Items
To preserve the beauty, softness and structure of your handwoven alpaca item, professional dry cleaning is recommended.
Pure alpaca fibre naturally resists odours and requires very little washing. Often, airing your item outdoors is all that is needed to refresh the fibres.
If necessary, spot cleaning can be carried out gently using cool water and a mild wool detergent. For a fuller clean, hand wash carefully in cool water using a wool-safe detergent. Avoid agitation, rubbing, wringing and sudden temperature changes, as these may damage the fibres and affect the woven structure.
After washing, gently reshape the item and lay it flat on towels to dry, helping to maintain its original size, drape and form.
